Why You Will Never Deadlift 700lbs Naturally and Why We See More Natural Lifters Deadlift 700lbs

Elder: "When I was your age I used to be like you."

Strength Athlete: "I deadlift 700lbs in competition and did 750lbs for 2 reps in the gym."

Elder: "When you reach my age you will no longer be able to do that."

Strength Athlete in his thoughts: "You may be right about me getting injured but let's be honest, there is no video of you deadlifting 700lbs or any history of competition anywhere online."

We've heard that before, yeah really Alec? Anyway a 700lb Deadlift very few lifters used to do in competition and nowadays it is more common. However why are many natural lifters yet alone steroid lifters never going to deadlift 700lbs?

  1. Improper programming long enough. Incorrect technique, incorrect recovery based on programming, incorrect form or incorrect ways to deadlift based on leverages and physical anthropometry.

  2. Lack of utilizing deadlift variations and accessory exercises that correct weaknesses and sticking points in the deadlift.

  3. Lack of muscle mass in the deadlift muscles or work capacity which also proper programming especially by yours truly can get you closer to that 700lb deadlift which takes me to my next point.

  4. Lack of training long enough and learning and expanding knowledge before you quit because you lack intrinsic motivation to get off the damn couch and risk tearing your rotator cuff

  5. You are simply not built to deadlift. Short T-Rex arms. Long torso. Big gut which gets in the way when you set up for deadlift position. These meatballs normally will use that to their advantage with a superhuman squat and benching their deadlift so you get what you are dealt with.

  6. Not around competitive training partners. You are the sum of the closest 5 people or even one son of a gun you keep around you. If that person is highly competitive they will bring the best out of you. If they don't see anything possible you will limit yourself and those around you which leads me to the most important factor for pretty much anything.

  7. Intrinsic motivation to get better and grow in all ways related to the lifestyle. You simply have to want to get it by all means and not have training ADD. You will disregard those who say you will get injured, those who talk you out of it and say you are wasting your life, and who knows you still won't get it after all. If everyone achieves their goals and deadlifts 700lbs then 700lbs will be the next 135lbs: inadequate and obsolete. Even if you never achieved your goals, the journey of you at least giving it your all for as long as you did is what matters most and people most remember. Everyone remembers and relates most to the one who fights. Everyone has a battle and fights for something and others keep it private doesn't mean their lives are perfect you infidels.

Long story short in the words of Porky Pig: (Stutters) That's all folks. Wu-Tang. Mic Drop.
